GENERAL INTRODUCTION TO THE PROJECTS :
The Society has a number of Projects underway in Eastern and South-eastern Europe. Many are of a short-term (up to 5 years) or of medium-term (up to 10 years) duration. The Society's 3 Main Projects are located in Bosnia & Herzegovina, are of long-term duration (greater than 10 years) and are detailed in these Web-pages.
Where individual projects are not part of the Society's Foreign Policy (Foreign Assistance Programme), they may also be publicised within these pages. We invite comment or questions about the projects included herein. To a certain extent, external participation may be encouraged. In the interim, any feedback about individual projects or about any aspects of a particular project, should be directed to the Society via e-mail.

Notes on readability :
Readability notes regarding the whole of this Website are contained on the Main Homepage of this Website and in the "Practical Notes" Section which can be accessed direct from a Link on the bottom of the Website Main Homepage. As stated elsewhere, we strongly recommend the use of the NETSCAPE web-browser programme for this Website.

News on some of the recent Updates to the Projects' Webpages :
There are also Direct Links to each of the 3 Bosnia & Herzegovina Projects on the Home Page of the Society's Website.

As of 22 May 2004., APPENDIX 1. to the BiH Sub-Project 1. (Dobromani Ponor Mills) has been published. This is an image-rich full-colour background page illustrating the still-active Ponor Mills at Pridvorci. We are satisfied that even without a Broadband connection (minimum rate 512 kbytes), this page will download in a reasonable time without being "timed out" and that the page layout is faithfully reproduced on most major Browser Programmes.
The main document relating to the BiH Sub-Project 1. Dobromani Ponor Mills, will be substantially updated in early 2006., bringing on-line information relating to the unactivated Links.

As of 23 August 2004., we have decided to publish one of the Proteus Project documents, in edited form, to illustrate a typical situation that faces us in the task of the restoration of Proteus anguinus Habitats in Eastern Herzegovina. The Vrelo "Oko" Location - "Case History" has been chosen to illustrate a typical scenario about which the accompanying text in the document reveals as much about the situation as does that which remains unwritten but which can be deduced. The specially compiled and illustrated web-published version of the Documentation, combines the sub-Project Documentation relating to the Habitat Restoration / Conservation / Preservation Programmes for this specific location, with the Documentation relating to its unpublished Site Citation. It is now available via a Link on the Proteus Project Webpage in Section 4.6.

Information about recent updates relevant to the FATNIČKO POLJE WEBPAGES are given on its own Homepage.

October 2005 :  The Society has now commenced the lengthy task of web-publishing a new information Section containing a large quantity of material relating to the topic "The Karstography of the Dinaric Karst in Bosnia & Herzegovina." The new Section deals with its extensive subject matter in three parts, reflecting the main three geographical regions of BiH. Part 3. of this new Section relates to the BiH region of Eastern Herzegovina and contains a proportion of material obtained by the Society during Project-work field trips in Bosnia & Herzegovina and may be related to one or more of the three BiH Projects detailed here in this part of the Website. We shall not duplicate such information and where relevant, will place it in the more dedicated web-pages.
A dedicated Link taking you to the Homepage of this new Section has now been activated at the bottom of the left-side column on this page.
